Croatia beaches: Zrće Beach, Pag island, Novalja
Zrće beach, located to the southeast of Novalja, is a special story, it is the most beautiful and most attractive of Novalja’s beaches. Its coastal part is a spacious pebbly area which at the height of the season can accommodate many thousands of bathers. Access to the sea is pebbly, and due to the steep drop to the sea bottom, the beach is extremely deep. Various sports-recreational and entertainment activities are available on the beach, plus a quality catering offer and several attractively furnished clubs offer fun and entertainment all night long. In one of the campaigns by the Croatian National Tourism Board and the media, ‘Plavi Cvijet’ (‘Blue Flower’), Zrće beach was declared the most beautiful and most organised beach in the Adriatic. With its exceptional natural features, facilities and amenities Zrće beach satisfies the strict criteria of the European Foundation for Environmental and Education, and so since the summer of 2003 it has held the Blue Flag. The beach is about 2 kilometres from Novalja, it has a large organised car park, and during the tourist season, it is connected to Novalja by public transport.
